Thérapie Clinic

UK Wide Store Rollout

Client: Thérapie Clinic | Architect: Oberlanders Architects Ltd | Project : 50+ stores

About

Saxon Safety have worked closely with Thérapie Clinic extensively over the last two years as the popular chain of aesthetic medical clinic has rapidly grown to now over 60 stores across the UK and Ireland. From the conception and design of each new store, to the construction phase of the project, to producing operations and maintenance (O&M) manuals post construction, and even supporting the client with their continued Health & Safety needs with annual fire risk assessments; Saxon Safety have been on hand to deliver the client Health & Safety and CDM expertise.

With new clinics popping up in shopping centres and high streets across the country, Saxon Safety’s support of Thérapie shows no sign of slowing down as the firm look to open a further 80 stores over the next year in this ambitious nationwide rollout.

What We Did

Produce Construction Phase Plans, Risk Assessments and Method Statements with the Principal Contractor before the construction phase of each new clinic.

Submit the F10 to the HSE as well as other site set up requirements such as producing a Fire Plan & Fire Risk Assessment for the construction phase, Site Safety File, CoSHH Assessments and supplying the Principal Contractor with all site set up material.

Work with various landlords management teams, Principal Contractor and Sub Contractors to organise work permits before and during the fit out to comply with each shopping centre’s rules and operate safely.

Produce O&M manuals for each new clinic post construction by chasing all contractors for their technical information and as-build drawings. Upon receiving the information we collate the information in a pack for each store to refer to when carrying out future maintenance work.

Once trading we visit each clinic annually to carry out a fire risk assessment and give fire safety training to assist clinic managers in meeting the requirements or the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

Organise work permits with the landlords and the appointed maintenance contractors to carry out planned/routine maintenance.

Challenges

For this particular client we assist non-UK based contractors meet the requirements of the safety regulations applicable to Scotland, England & Wales. The main challenge we face in all projects for Thérapie Clinic is the fast-pace nature of each fit out. With most being 8-week fit outs, often with little notice in the lead up to each project with all requiring an extensive amount of work to be produced, it requires us to pull together as a team to ensure the site is set up correctly and safely for the first day on site and throughout the build. Attending pre-start meetings at short noitice, quickly producing the site folders with all the required documentation, and making sure all the correct permits are in place with the landlords, are key to making this roll out a continuing success. Saxon Safety are always on hand to provide support with any safety issues that arise during the construction period and once trading.
